DRUMS, PERCUSSIONS, NEW KID IN THE FOLD AND HE CAN EVEN DO SPEED-METAL...
Biography
I started playing drums in high school. I was specializing in arts and was part of the school's brass and reed band and also part of the school's stage band along with Sébastien. Upon finishing high school, I formed a band with one of my guitarist friend, Benoit Deschamps. To this day, I still play with that band that started under the name "Monument" but, due to a recent change of staff, has changed moniker for "Self Collapse" for evident reasons (ha ha). I started my studies at Joliette's college under the guidance of Ronald Fauché (excellent teacher) then under Martin Marcotte. Sébastien was at the same college and we both joined a group called Nemesis, group that played instrumental prog. It was a good band but due to a lack of time and implication of certain members the band stopped playing together. When I obtained my diploma, I challenged myself to obtain an university degree in interpretation. At UQAM, I studied under the guidance of Pierre Hébert (excellent coach). What I loved the most of my university experience was to play along other students for their exams. I found it very beneficiary because I had to explore different musical worlds; sometimes it was very pleasant, sometimes it was not as thrilling, but overall it was always challenging.
It was while playing alongside Sébastien for his final exam, that I met the friendly guys from Hamadryad. They called upon me a few days later to play drums for them.
Beside playing with Hamadryad, I also take part in another band, that was formed in university, alongside Sébastien, under the name of "Restons Calme", which can be translated as "Stay Cool". We have played a few shows with that band and we look forward to a few more.
